Egg launched as the UK's first internet bank in 1998 and now claims to be the world's largest internet bank, specialising in credit cards, loans and savings. It continues to expand into new markets with insurance and mortgage products.
Egg asked Profit by Design to lead a rapid Interaction Design project to sell an innovative health insurance product first introduced in South Africa. This project was all about speed. With no time for Contextual Research or Conceptual Design, we proposed a solution based on our considerable experience with financial services e.g. Lloyds TSB, Pictet, Prudential and Visa Europe.
Profit by Design quickly identified that this new product was so innovative that it did not fit with customers preconceptions and so, for the design to succeed, Egg and Profit by Design had to tackle these preconceptions head on and change them.
After successful delivery, this product has gone from strength-to-strength and Egg subsequently asked Profit by Design to invest in both Contextual Research and Conceptual Design to identify how their existing site-wide navigation could better support customer needs and work harder for their business.
